Marketing Coordinator

Application Deadline: 17 July 2026

Department: Marketing & Admissions

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Wigan & Leigh College

Compensation: £30,771 - £34,603 / year

Description

37 Hours per Week, Permeant, All Year Round

Shape stories. Build reputation. Bring our offer to life.

Marketing is often the first way people understand who we are.

A campaign helps someone see that college is still for them. A student story makes Higher Education feel possible. A strong social post builds confidence before an open event. A clear web page helps someone take the next step.

As our Marketing Coordinator, you’ll help shape that first impression.

You’ll focus particularly on promoting our Adult College and University Centre offer, creating content, campaigns and communications that support recruitment and raise the profile of our adult and higher education provision.

You’ll work across digital marketing, social media, PR, website content and internal communications. You’ll find stories, shape messages and produce content that feels clear, engaging and true to Wigan & Leigh College.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety. One day you may be planning a paid social campaign. Another day you may be capturing content at an event, writing a case study, updating the website or working with curriculum teams to turn an idea into something that lands with the right audience.

You’ll need creativity, organisation and the confidence to take ownership. The right person will enjoy making things happen, keeping deadlines visible and using insight to understand what works.

What you'll do

  • Create engaging content that reflects the Wigan & Leigh College brand.
  • Support marketing activity for our Adult College and University Centre provision.
  • Plan and deliver paid and organic social media campaigns.
  • Write clear content for social media, web, PR and internal communications.
  • Take photographs and create video content for digital channels.
  • Work with curriculum teams to identify stories, case studies and campaign opportunities.
  • Keep website and online content accurate, current and audience-focused.
  • Monitor social, digital and press coverage and report on reach and impact.
  • Support live content at open evenings, student events, welcome days and awards.
  • Maintain a bank of case studies for campaigns, publications and online content.
  • Monitor competitor activity and use insight to improve our approach.
  • Use work management tools to organise activity, track deadlines and support projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
