Marketing Coordinator
Shape stories. Build reputation. Bring our Adult College and University Centre offer to life.
Marketing is often the first way people understand who we are.
A campaign helps someone see that college is still for them. A student story makes Higher Education feel possible. A strong social post builds confidence before an open event. A clear web page helps someone take the next step.
As our Marketing Coordinator, you’ll help shape that first impression.
You’ll support marketing activity across the college, with a particular focus on our Adult College and University Centre offer. You’ll create content, support paid and organic campaigns, develop stories and help make sure our digital presence is clear, engaging and true to Wigan & Leigh College
What you’ll do
- Create engaging content for social media, web, PR, publications and internal communications.
- Support marketing campaigns for Adult College and University Centre provision.
- Plan and deliver paid and organic social media activity.
- Take photographs and create video content for digital channels.
- Work with curriculum teams to find stories, case studies and campaign opportunities.
- Keep website and online content accurate, current and audience-focused.
- Monitor digital, social and press activity and report on reach and impact.
- Support live content at open evenings, student events, welcome days and awards.

What you’ll bring
- Experience in content creation, digital marketing, PR or communications.
- Strong copywriting skills for different audiences and platforms.
- Confidence using social media, digital platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite or similar creative tools.
- Good organisation and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive, creative approach to finding stories and developing content.
- GCSE English and maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent.
- A degree or equivalent experience in marketing, journalism, PR, communications or a related area.
