Marketing Director - Financial Services Sector

Leicester - Hybrid Working (3-4 Days Per Week in the Office)
£75,000 - £90,000 DOE + Bonus + Benefits

Focus 5 Recruitment are supporting a growing financial services business in Leicester in their search for a Marketing Director. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious organisation that provides independent financial advice to a growing base of private clients and has significant plans for future expansion.

The successful Marketing Director will be responsible for leading the company's marketing function, creating and delivering a strategy that supports business growth, strengthens brand presence, and enhances the customer journey. This is a highly visible leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape both marketing performance and the future development of the team.

We're looking for a commercially focused marketing professional who combines strategic vision with a practical approach to delivery. You'll be equally comfortable developing long-term plans, analysing performance data, leading people, and getting involved in campaign execution when required.

Whether you're already operating at Marketing Director level or are a senior marketing leader ready to take the next step, we're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate a strong track record of driving growth through effective marketing strategy and leadership.

The Role

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy that aligns with the company's growth objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share, brand awareness, and customer engagement.
  • Ensure all marketing activity delivers measurable commercial outcomes.

Customer & Brand Development

  • Lead initiatives designed to improve customer acquisition, retention, and overall experience.
  • Use customer insights and data to inform campaign planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Drive consistency in brand positioning and messaging across all channels.

Marketing Performance

  • Drive marketing activity that directly supports ambitious business growth targets, ensuring clear alignment between marketing initiatives and commercial objectives.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for revenue growth, client acquisition, and increased market penetration, using marketing as a key driver of business performance.
  • Establish and monitor meaningful performance metrics, using data, insight, and commercial awareness to continually optimise activity and maximise return on investment.

Team Management

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to the marketing team.
  • Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and develop team members, helping them achieve both personal and professional growth.

Budget & Resource Planning

  • Take ownership of marketing budgets and ensure expenditure is aligned with business objectives.
  • Evaluate marketing investment and maximise return across all activities.
  • Manage resources effectively to support both short and long-term goals.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in a senior marketing leadership role.
  • Demonstrable success in developing and delivering marketing strategies that have driven business growth.
  • Degree educated in Marketing, Business, or a related subject.
  • Strong knowledge across digital marketing, brand development, customer engagement, and campaign management.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing successful marketing teams.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to use data and insights to shape strategy and improve performance.
  • Strong understanding of marketing technology and modern marketing practices.
  • Experience within financial services would be advantageous, although candidates from other regulated environments will also be considered.
