Marketing Director – AI-Driven D2C Scale-Up

Location: London / Hybrid

Compensation: Competitive Executive Package (£100,000–£125,000) + Share Incentive Plan, Plus Excellent Perks

Practicus is partnering with a UK-based fast-growing LegalTech scale-up, already shaking up a centuries-old industry by replacing antagonism with kindness, transparency, and empathy. Fast-forward, they’re now scaling into the "relationship health" ecosystem—a bold step from disruption into definitive market dominance.

The challenge: build an agile, AI-first marketing engine to power the next phase.


About the Role

This isn’t an airy-fairy mandate—it’s a blue-collar operational mission. You’ll adopt the mindset of an architect, not just a tactician, shaping a data-driven, automated powerhouse from the ground up. Ruthless execution. Relentless growth. Extreme clarity in narrative and strategy.

Reporting directly to the Co-Founder, you’ll own:

📊 Core Objectives

  • Optimise Unit Economics

    • Drive aggressive YoY growth while ruthlessly improving Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV) and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) to stay at world-class efficiency benchmarks.
  • Architect an AI-First Marketing Ecosystem

    • Move beyond prompt-and-pray: design and embed agentic marketing workflows, using tools like n8n, Claude, or similar, to autom/deep-dive content creation, copywriting, social media, and lead gen.

  • Elevate Brand & Customer Experience (CX)

    • Refine positioning and competitive differentiation through SEO/PR, paid media campaigns, and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO)—capturing high-intent customers without sacrificing your brand’s core human-centric empathy.
  • Build and Modernise the Marketing Function

    • Coach and evolve your team toward leaner, faster data-driven operations, ensuring every action is laser-focused on growth.

🔧 Responsibilities

✔ Define and execute the long-term marketing and brand strategy across all channels, driving clarity, differentiation, and profitable scale. ✔ Lead the shift to an automated, AI-driven workflows, ensuring the team is highly efficient and impactful. ✔ Strengthen customer acquisition using advanced data analytics, attribution models, and test-and-learn frameworks. ✔ Oversee content & creative production, ensuring alignment with brand narrative while maximising reach via organic and paid means. ✔ Partner closely with product to align messaging with user needs in incumbent industries (e.g., legal, financial services). ✔ Champion growth strategy and ensure budget discipline—balancing investment with ROI. ✔ Champion regulatory compliance in a high-trust industry (GDPR, PECR, ASA/CAP).


🌟 Who You Are

  • Senior-level experience in marketing leadership in fast-growth D2C/B2C, with demonstrable success in unit economics, scaling operations, and team mentorship.
  • AI-martech fluency—able to speak tech, architect automated workflows, and identify low-effort/high-output use cases (e.g., AI tools like n8n, Claude).
  • Data-n Beverly Adds Constructor—comfortable designing attribution models, analysing trends in tools like HubSpot, Power BI, Airtable, and translating insights into tactical decisions.
  • Commercial performer with a perfectionist eye and pragmatic nose for growth—data creation doesn’t stop the great storytelling chain.
  • UK marketing regulations expert (GDPR, PECR, ASA/CAP) with a crusading focus on ethical data practises.
