Director of Marketing

Meraki Talent is partnering exclusively with a growing financial services business, looking to recruit a Director of Marketing.
This is an excellent opportunity to build and lead an in-house marketing function during an upscaling period. You will take ownership of the firm's brand, communications, PR, events, and marketing strategy as the business enters its next phase of growth.
Working directly with the CEO, you will be responsible for transitioning all marketing activities from external providers to an internal function. You will lead the development and execution of the firm's marketing strategy across digital, print, PR, and events.
Marketing Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the firm's overall marketing strategy in line with commercial objectives.
- Lead the transition of all marketing activity from outsourced providers to an in-house function.
- Build scalable marketing processes and identify opportunities to enhance brand awareness and client engagement.
- Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to support business growth initiatives.
- Own and develop the firm's brand positioning across all channels.
- Drive thought leadership initiatives through articles, market commentary, white papers, and insights.
- Develop compelling investor-facing communications that strengthen relationships with clients and prospects.
- Ensure all external communications comply with FCA regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Maximise the use of digital platforms to increase visibility, engagement, and lead generation.
- Manage relationships with external PR agencies.
- Develop proactive media engagement strategies to enhance the firm's profile.
- Oversee press releases, media enquiries, and external communications.

Event Responsibilities:

- Lead the annual events programme, including conferences, investor events, networking functions, and industry sponsorships.
- Partner with the CEO to coordinate roadshows, client presentations, and webinars.
- Oversee every aspect of event planning, delivery, and post-event engagement.
Person Specification:
- Significant lead-level marketing experience within financial services.
- Experience within investment management, asset management, private markets, private equity, wealth management, or a similar regulated environment.
- Working within a small or growing organisation (desirable).
- Experience building a marketing function from scratch or bringing marketing in-house (desirable).
- Not precious with driving strategy, alongside hands-on delivery.
- Proven experience developing and delivering integrated marketing strategies.
- Strong background across digital marketing, print, PR, events, and corporate communications.
- Experience producing investor-facing marketing materials and thought leadership content.
- Knowledge of FCA financial promotions and marketing compliance.
- Excellent written communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous responsibility for annual events programmes, conferences, and executive roadshows.
- Commercially astute with a growth mindset.
- Driven, ambitious, and entrepreneurial.
- Confident working directly with senior executives and external stakeholders.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Creative, proactive, and solutions focused.
