About the Role
This is a senior leadership role at the heart of amicable's growth. You'll lead the marketing organization - owning strategy, performance, and commercial output across the entire function, and delivering significant year-on-year growth on a set budget.
You'll lead a brand, communications, growth, and customer-focused team with pace, efficiency, and a drive for commercial success. You'll architect an AI and martech ecosystem that drives automation across the function and set ways of working that shift the business toward a more agile, automated operating model.
You're both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator. You bring depth across brand, marketing, AI, and customer experience - and you use it to improve unit economics, increase customer lifetime value, and reduce the cost of acquisition, while keeping the brand visible and consistent across all channels.
You'll own positioning and competitive differentiation, and partner closely with the Co-Founders and the Commercial, Product, Tech, Sales, and Customer Services teams to align marketing with the wider business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
As our Marketing Director, you will:
Strategy & Leadership
- Own the brand, marketing, and customer strategy, budget, and plan end-to-end - aligned to amicable's commercial objectives and strategy for efficient, effective growth
- Set product positioning and competitive differentiation, testing propositions with audiences to decide how amicable stands out in its market
- Lead, develop, and coach your team - setting clear objectives, ways of working, and a regular cadence for performance and development
- Own the key marketing economic metrics, including customer lifetime value, acquisition cost, and revenue - setting targets and reporting against them
- Deliver significant year-on-year growth on a set budget, ensuring agile allocation and efficiency of spend across all channels
- Consolidate strategy into succinct, commercial narratives that win over the Executive Team and cross-functional stakeholders

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
