About the role
We are looking for a Marketing Effectiveness Manager to join the European Marketing Leadership Team. This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of marketing, commercial performance, analytics and finance, helping Castrol maximise the return on its marketing investments and deliver stronger business outcomes across Europe.
As a trusted partner to marketing, finance and commercial teams, you will champion a culture of evidence-based decision making, helping us understand what works, why it works, and where we should invest for future growth.
This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Lead and support marketing mix modelling, effectiveness analysis and other performance measurement activities to identify opportunities to improve marketing returns and business performance.
- Drive the marketing planning process using business, customer and market insights to inform investment decisions and budget allocation.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programmes, campaigns and promotional activity, identifying opportunities to improve performance and return on marketing investment (ROMI).
- Lead monthly performance reviews and support senior stakeholders with actionable insights and recommendations.
- Partner with marketing, sales, finance and commercial teams to translate data into meaningful business actions.
- Oversee reporting and performance tracking for the European marketing budget, supporting robust commercial decision-making.
- Support strategic business reviews, leadership presentations and executive reporting activities across the European business.
- Collaborate with the Global Effectiveness Team to continuously improve frameworks, tools, models and best practices for marketing effectiveness
- Ensure data quality, governance and process excellence across marketing effectiveness activities and reporting.

What you will need to be successful
We're interested in dedicated individuals from a variety of backgrounds who can bring strong commercial thinking and a data-driven attitude to this role.
- Significant experience in marketing, commercial, finance, business development, analytics or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience measuring, analysing and evaluating the impact of business or marketing initiatives.
- Strong commercial skill and the ability to connect business activities with measurable outcomes.
- Excellent analytical capability and comfort working with data, financial metrics and performance insights.
- Proven ability to influence and engage senior partners across multiple functions.
- Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to achieve outcomes through collaboration rather than direct authority.
Additional Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent experience. A business-related qualification is advantageous.
- Experience within lubricants, energy or a related industry is beneficial but not essential.
