Ipswich & Bury St Edmunds
Who are we?
Newmedica are one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatient appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to change lives through better sight and eye health.
We care for thousands of NHS and private patients a year in our specialist eye clinics across the country.
We are thrilled to say that following an independently conducted survey of Newmedica colleagues to tell us what it’s like to work here, we have been certified as a Great Place to Work for the third year running. The feedback has directly contributed to Newmedica being listed among the UK’s top 50 Best Workplaces™ for 2025. In addition to this, we are pleased to announce that we, in Suffolk, are now a Disability Confident [Level 1] Employer, and we have recently received the EADT Customer Excellence AwardTM for 2026 and the Good Health at Work Silver Award.
Role overview
We are looking for a new Marketing & Engagement Associate to join our Suffolk team. This is a full-time position working 40 hours over 5 days per week, including the occasional evening and weekend.
This role involves supporting the delivery of Newmedica Suffolk’s marketing and engagement strategy, working under the guidance of the Senior Engagement Manager. You will assist with a wide range of activities including referrer engagement, community outreach, digital marketing, and event coordination. The role contributes to strengthening relationships with patients, optometrists, GPs, and the wider community, while enhancing the visibility and accessibility of Newmedica services.
This is a developmental position, providing the opportunity to build knowledge and skills across multiple marketing channels while completing a Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship. We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and confident communicating with a range of stakeholders, with a willingness to learn and contribute to a dynamic and growing service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
