Marketing Engineer

About EQUALS

EQUALS is the music social network. We have 1 million monthly active users, people use us more than Instagram, Snapchat, and X, and we’ve sparked over 40 million friendships. We are a team of creatives and technologists from giants like Nike, Instagram, and Apple, backed by investors behind Spotify, A24, and Facebook, making us one of the most well-funded consumer social businesses in the game. Our mission is to unite the world through its most universal language: music.

Your Role: Marketing Engineer

We’ve built a world-class systematic approach to marketing, and paid acquisition runs like a quant desk. As a Marketing Engineer at EQUALS, you will own that engine and push it to the frontier. This is a rare hybrid role: part scientist, part growth operator, part creator. You will treat marketing as an optimisation problem worthy of real mathematics, deploy AI as a first-class tool, and turn taste and culture into an edge no competitor can copy. You will invent capabilities the team has never had and be the trailblazer who brings the latest advances in AI and applied math to everything we do.

Your Realm

Portfolio Optimisation

  • Treat our paid spend as a live portfolio to optimise, allocating budgets across TikTok, Meta, Snapchat, AppLovin, and Apple Search Ads for maximum return.
  • Build systems that rebalance in near real time as new signals emerge—not just weekly spreadsheets.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Applied AI at the Cutting Edge

  • Be the pioneering adopter of AI for the marketing team, inventing capabilities we haven’t had before.
  • Leverage generative models to create, test, and iterate on creative and copy at a speed no manual team can match.

Measurement & Evaluation Science

  • Create scientific frameworks to determine what truly works, from incrementality and attribution to creative testing.
  • Define key metrics (install rate, CPI, retention, LTV) and ensure they’re trustworthy, causal, and near real-time.
  • Replace gut-feel reporting with rigorous experimentation the whole team can act on.

Growth Meets Culture

  • Translate cultural instinct into measurable advantage, blending taste for music and internet culture with hard data.
  • Identify creative angles and audiences that resonate, then scale them systematically.
  • Know when to lean on models vs trusting intuition, and design systems that honour both.
