Marketing, Events and Engagement Manager

Head of Events and Engagement (13-Month Fixed Term Maternity Cover)

About The Role

A 13-month fixed-term contract (Maternity Cover) reporting to the Head of Events and Engagement. This leadership role involves delivering UK corporate events, healthcare stakeholder engagement, communications, marketing, and strategic partnerships across Scotland.

You’ll lead a small team, ensuring no two days are the same. From managing corporate conferences and sponsorships to supporting healthcare engagement and integrated marketing campaigns, you’ll shape the Motability Scheme’s public perception, enhance its impact, and cultivate meaningful connections with customers, partners, and stakeholders across the UK.

Working closely with Executive Committee members, senior leaders, colleagues in Marketing, Communications, and Customer Experience, and external partners—including the Motability Foundation and agencies—you’ll drive unified engagement strategies aligned with organisational goals. This opportunity is to lead an established portfolio early on, build key relationships, and make a lasting difference during maternity cover.

What You’ll Be Doing

Scottish Sponsorships, Events, and Marketing & Communications

  • Identify opportunities to boost awareness of Motability Operations through strategic events, partnerships, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement across Scotland.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships and ambassador initiatives, collaborating with external stakeholders to deliver impactful campaigns, events, and content that elevate the Motability Scheme’s purpose and brand.

Corporate Events

  • Lead the UK-wide corporate events programme, designing, executing, and evaluating events that support business objectives and enhance brand reputation.
  • Oversee the Senior Events Executive (focusing on corporate and internal events), ensuring delivery of high-profile industry conferences, exhibitions, sponsorship activity, employee events, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Work with cross-departmental teams to maximise impact of corporate events and sponsorship investments.
  • Support crisis communications initiatives, ensuring alignment with Motability Operations’ messaging and reputation safeguards.

Healthcare Stakeholder Engagement

  • Offer leadership and support to the Scheme Stakeholder Engagement Executive, aligning healthcare engagement efforts with Motability Scheme awareness goals and broader strategic objectives.
  • Provide strategic oversight of relationships with healthcare organisations and professional bodies, fostering long-term, trust-based partnerships that enhance customer outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and use stakeholder insights to inform business priorities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
