THE ORGANISATION
Construction Futures, launched in 2024, was established by construction employers, through the Construction Employers Federation, along with the employee representatives from the Unite and GMB Unions.
The purpose of the company is to jointly address the challenges faced by the construction sector. We aim to engage, encourage, and potentially part-fund initiatives in collaboration with other strategic partners. Our goal is to promote the construction sector as a vibrant career choice and improve the working lives of those involved.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To support the delivery of Construction Futures' marketing, communications, and events activity by creating engaging content, supporting social media activity, assisting with event delivery, and contributing to website content. The role will work collaboratively with the Programme & Engagement Manager on events, resources and social media, and with the Digital & Data Coordinator to ensure website content remains accurate, engaging and up to date.
The Marketing & Events Executive will assist with branding, campaigns, digital marketing, events and stakeholder communications, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms and supporting the growth of our initiatives in Northern Ireland.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
This role requires creativity, strong organisational skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality work across multiple activities.
- You must be comfortable creating engaging content, supporting marketing campaigns, and contributing to both digital and in-person activities, often working across multiple projects simultaneously as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Strong written and visual communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience: 1 - 3 years’ experience in a marketing, communications, events or similar role.
- Content Creation: Demonstrated ability to create and manage high-quality marketing materials including digital content, promotional materials, and publications. Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools for in-house design work.
- Digital Skills: Experience of social media management, website CMS platforms (ideally Wordpress), email marketing tools, and an understanding of digital analytics.
- Communication: Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and strong brand awareness.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Flexibility: Willingness to attend events and undertake occasional out-of-hours work.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Events & Stakeholder Engagement: Experience supporting events or stakeholder engagement activity.
- CRM & Email Marketing: Experience with CRM systems or email marketing tools.
- Analytics & Insights: Basic knowledge of analytics or social media insights.
- Sectoral Awareness: An interest in construction, education or skills development.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Content
- Support the delivery of marketing campaigns across digital, social media and print.
- Create graphics, marketing materials and content for campaigns, events and initiatives.
- Develop copy and creative assets for social media, website and email campaigns, working collaboratively with the Programme & Engagement Manager, who leads on social media, and the Digital & Data Co-ordinator, who manages the website and email platforms.
Events & Programmes
- Support the promotion of events, projects, and programmes through marketing campaigns, collateral development, and media engagement, including on-the-day attendance and capturing content such as photos, videos, and live social updates.
Website & Digital
- Support updates to the organisation's website and social media channels, including content uploads and basic content changes where required.
- Develop website copy and creative assets, working with the Digital & Data Co-ordinator to publish and maintain content through the CMS.
Reporting, Coordination & Administration
- Support the tracking and reporting of overall marketing performance metrics to inform ongoing improvements, while maintaining marketing trackers, supporting campaign coordination, and assisting with email communications and broader stakeholder engagement activity.
