I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

While the daily pace is steady rather than rushed, the standard of work must be very high. You will run our digital campaigns using HubSpot, utilising AI tools effectively to speed up your workflow without relying on them blindly.
Key responsibilities
- Copywriting & content marketing: Sourcing, editing, and publishing daily news stories and press releases on our WordPress website. You will ensure layouts look highly professional, engaging, and completely error-free, while implementing basic SEO best practices to help our news articles rank well.
- Email marketing: Designing and sending engaging newsletters and promotional email campaigns for both brands using HubSpot, focused on attracting users and showcasing our partners.
- Social media: Crafting and managing daily promotional posts on LinkedIn, using HubSpot for scheduling and tracking to grow our brand presence and drive platform traffic.
- AI content support: Using tools like ChatGPT and Gemini efficiently to brainstorm and draft initial concepts, then applying your own marketing insight to heavily edit and refine the copy so it attracts our target audience.
- Client communication: Managing regular, professional email updates with our clients to ensure they are well looked after, making the occasional trip to visit a client in person, and liaising with satisfied customers to gather testimonials for our campaigns.
- Marketing collateral: Updating and maintaining promotional materials, such as digital media packs and partner onboarding guides, ensuring all imagery and statistics are kept current.
- Event & exhibition support: Assisting with the promotion of industry events and trade shows, including coordinating pre-event email campaigns, creating social media coverage, and occasionally attending events to represent the brands.
- Industry monitoring: Keeping an eye on industry news, trending topics, and competitor activity to spot content opportunities and keep our platforms ahead.
- CRM management & reporting: Keeping client contact details accurate within HubSpot CRM, and tracking website, email, and social numbers to see what content is attracting the most engagement.
- General office duties: Pitching in with day-to-day administrative tasks to support our small team and ensure the smooth running of the office.
Please note: This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and you may be required to undertake other duties to meet the ongoing needs of the business.
Skills & experience required
Essential (must-haves)
- B2B Marketing: 2+ years of experience working in a B2B marketing role, with a solid understanding of how to position a brand and write content that attracts a business audience.
- Exceptional written English: Flawless grammar and a sharp eye for detail.
- Client liaison & communication: Experience managing professional email correspondence with clients, with the confidence to represent the company during occasional face-to-face visits or industry events.
- Smart AI utilisation: Hands-on experience using ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar as efficiency aids. You know how to prompt them effectively, but you treat them strictly as a starting point, never a finished product.
- Organisation: Good time management; you need to be able to keep on top of daily checklist tasks and event deadlines without needing constant reminders.
- Logistics: Due to our rural location and the requirement for occasional client and event travel, a full UK driving licence and your own transport are essential.
