Whether you're an ambitious home cook looking to impress at your next dinner party, or just wanting to learn a new kitchen skill, Great British Chefs is the ultimate resource for those who want to delve that little bit deeper. We work with the very best chefs and food writers to create recipes, guides, features and videos that inspire food lovers to cook for themselves and others, all whilst celebrating the diversity of Britain's culinary scene.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You’ll be joining a small, agile team where no two weeks look the same. As part of the Great British Chefs team, you’ll also get to enjoy the perks that come with working in food - including access to our in-house test kitchen, where our chefs cook and develop recipes on a regular basis.
