Marketing Executive

Marketing Executive – books, reading, and education (Peters)

About the Role

Are you a marketing professional with a passion for books and reading for pleasure? Peters, a UK-based specialist supplier of books and library furniture to schools and libraries, is looking for a dynamic Marketing Executive to join their team.

This role entails crafting engaging, customer-focused marketing campaigns both online and offline, building brand presence within the education sector, and supporting all marketing channels.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation, execution, and measurement of compelling marketing campaigns across channels:

    • Direct mail
    • Web (website and CMS updates)
    • Email marketing
    • Social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
    • SEO & PPC
  • Develop and publish engaging content for:

    • Website/blogs
    • Email campaigns
    • Social media platforms
  • Ensure all marketing aligns with brand identity and maintains a strong visual appeal, including graphic design when needed.

  • Monitor campaign performance and provide analysis to refine strategies and improve ROI.

Requirements & Experience

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of one year’s experience in marketing, with either:

    • A qualification to degree level in marketing, or
    • A proven track record of marketing achievements
  • Be results-driven, detail-oriented, and customer-focused

  • Possess exceptional copywriting and content creation skills

  • Demonstrate knowledge of:

    • Social media management
    • Email marketing strategies
    • SEO best practices
  • Be able to negotiate effectively with suppliers, publishers, partners, and clients

  • Manage multiple priorities efficiently with strong organisational and time-management skills

The Details

  • Reports to: Marketing Manager
  • Working hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week), with flexibility required for business needs
  • Contract type: Permanent (six-month probation period with full-time on-site attendance)
  • Location: Birmingham-based (4 days), option for one day per week work from home (after mentor | unforeseen homeworking may be required) Office address: 120 Bromsgrove Street, Birmingham, B5 6RJ
  • Salary: £27.5K per annum
