Job Overview
We're looking for an experienced marketing professional to provide maternity cover for our Marketing Team, keeping campaigns, vendor activity, and product launches running smoothly from day one. You'll take the lead on day-to-day marketing delivery, working closely with our Website Administrator and the wider team to make sure nothing slips during the maternity period.
Please note: This is a fixed-term, full-time, on-site position based at our York office, running from the end of August 2026 until July 2027. This role is not suitable for remote or hybrid working, and applicants must be able to work from the office throughout the duration of the contract.
Responsibilities
Campaign Planning & Delivery
- Plan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across email, web, social, and print.
- Manage email marketing and CRM activity, from build through to send and follow-up.
- Keep campaign activity on track against the existing marketing plan and calendar.
Content, Social & Website
- Create, edit, and publish website content that is clear, engaging, and on-brand.
- Ensure website content reflects current product availability, promotions, and industry developments.
- Maintain a consistent tone of voice and presentation across all website and social content.
- Create and coordinate social media content and posting schedules.
- Coordinate day-to-day work with the Website Administrator, providing direction and prioritising activity.

Vendor Marketing & Product Launches
- Support vendor marketing programmes, including MDF (Marketing Development Fund) claims and reporting.
- Support product launches, from planning through to go-to-market materials and communications.
- Support product visibility by promoting priority, new, or underperforming product ranges.
Events
- Plan and support marketing events, including trade shows, vendor roadshows, and customer events.
- Coordinate event logistics such as venue, materials, and attendee communications.
- Represent Varlink at events where required, and support post-event follow-up and reporting.
Product & Market Insight
- Analyse website and product performance to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Conduct basic market and competitor research to support website and campaign optimisation.

Reporting & Administration
- Produce regular marketing reports covering campaign performance, website activity, customer behaviour, and key digital KPIs.
- Maintain accurate website records, product data, and marketing databases.
Supporting the Wider Team
Our Website Administrator will receive additional marketing training during the maternity cover period to support campaign delivery. As Marketing Executive, you'll provide direction, prioritise activity, and oversee campaign execution, keeping the wider team updated throughout.
