London Universities and Colleges Athletics (LUCA) is a federation of university athletics and cross-country clubs in London, the East of England and the South East. The organization brings together institutions to coordinate competitions, leagues, and events that support student participation in athletics and running. The team works closely with universities, clubs, and volunteers to deliver high-quality events and foster a strong athletics community. Role Description
The Marketing lead is a voluntary position on the operations committee. The lead will manage LUCA’s marketing and communications strategy, driving participation, engagement, and brand visibility across all competitions and initiatives. This role oversees a small team of Marketing Officers and ensures LUCA presents a consistent, professional, and inclusive identity across all channels.
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Developing and managing marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels
- Coordinating social media content
- Producing promotional materials for events and leagues
- Conducting market research to understand student and university needs
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting sales and sponsorship initiatives
- Overseeing brand messaging
- Ensuring consistent communication with member institutions
- Improving participant experience through targeted marketing and customer engagement
