Marketing Lead

Marketing Lead – Smokefree Hampshire (Part-Time, Permanent)

Smokefree Hampshire is a smoking cessation service, supporting residents to quit smoking, vaping, or nicotine use through a flexible, free 12-week programme combining behavioural support and Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT).

As we begin our second year—and with exciting plans ahead—we’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Lead to develop and implement innovative marketing strategies for our community stop-smoking service across Hampshire.

This role plays a critical function in raising awareness, driving engagement, and ultimately supporting more individuals to quit smoking. The Marketing Lead will be responsible for:

  • Creating and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • Managing digital presence and brand consistency
  • Building key stakeholder relationships
  • Analysing campaign effectiveness to optimise performance

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a passion for public health, and a proven track record of delivering successful marketing initiatives.


Key Duties

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with the Head of Service and Engagement & Partnerships Lead to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy, ensuring it aligns with service objectives and target audiences.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Oversee the annual marketing budget, allocating funds efficiently across campaigns and resources.
  • Develop and maintain a marketing calendar to coordinate activities.

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Manage and optimise the Smokefree Hampshire website and social media channels, increasing engagement and reach.
  • Create engaging content, including website copy, social media posts, blogs, videos, and infographics.
  • Implement and manage email marketing campaigns to nurture leads and promote services.
  • Collaborate internally and externally to enhance SEO, improving search visibility and driving website traffic.

Performance & Analysis

  • Monitor website and social media analytics, analysing performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, providing actionable insights.
  • Track and analyse KPIs to measure success, generating regular performance reports.
  • Leverage data to inform marketing strategies and optimise campaigns.

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with commissioners, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring feedback and priorities are translated into aligned marketing activities.
  • Work closely with Brand & Marketing Head to maintain consistent branding across all materials.
  • Oversee production of marketing assets (leaflets, posters, digital resources) and ensure distribution to partners, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
  • Lead briefing and management of external agencies, designers, and suppliers, ensuring high-quality, on-brand outputs.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Write and distribute press releases and media outputs.
  • Contribute to Thrive Tribe’s culture and values by embedding and promoting our ethos.
  • Stay updated on latest marketing trends and best practices.
  • Adhere to Safeguarding, Information Governance, and Clinical Governance policies.

Location & Working Arrangements

The role is home-based but requires occasional travel for meetings and events in Hampshire.

Contract: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week Salary: £31,000 pro-rata (rising to £33,000 pro-rata per year)
