Cotswold Energy Group is a growing business operating in the sustainable energy sector, supporting domestic customers and commercial organisations with practical, future-focused energy solutions.
The business is focused on helping customers improve the efficiency, performance, and sustainability of their homes and buildings through technologies such as heat pumps, solar panels, batteries, energy storage, underfloor heating, and wider low-carbon energy solutions.
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for a hands-on Marketing Lead to help build and deliver the marketing function, with a particular focus on growing the able-to-pay residential customer market while also supporting B2B activity across the group.
The Opportunity
This is a broad, hands-on marketing role for someone who wants to make a visible impact in a small, growing, and purpose-led business.
You will not be joining a large corporate marketing department with big teams, fixed processes, and narrow responsibilities. Instead, this is an opportunity to help shape and build marketing activity from the ground up, working across the full marketing mix and directly supporting business growth.
The role would suit a second-stage marketer who has already built strong experience across campaigns, content, CRM, email, and social media, and is now looking for a role with more ownership, variety, and commercial influence.
You will be supported by external consultants for specialist digital performance activity such as PPC and SEO, but you will be expected to own the marketing plan, coordinate delivery, create content, manage campaigns, and ensure activity is aligned with commercial priorities.
The Role
The Marketing Lead will take ownership of day-to-day marketing activity across Cotswold Energy Group, supporting both B2C and B2B audiences.
A key focus will be driving growth in the able-to-pay residential market: homeowners interested in technologies such as heat pumps, solar, batteries, energy storage, and other sustainable energy solutions. Alongside this, the role will support commercial and B2B marketing activity across relevant business areas.
You will work closely with the leadership and sales teams to turn business objectives into effective marketing campaigns. This will include social media, email marketing, CRM activity, content creation, campaign planning, customer communications, lead generation, and supplier management.
This is a hands-on delivery role. You will be planning, writing, coordinating, launching, measuring, and improving campaigns, while helping to create the systems, processes, and structure needed for marketing to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a practical marketing plan that supports brand awareness, lead generation, customer engagement, and sales growth.
- Lead integrated marketing campaigns across B2C and B2B audiences.
- Drive marketing activity focused on able-to-pay residential customers interested in sustainable home energy solutions.
- Plan and manage social media activity, including content calendars, campaign messaging, posting schedules, engagement, and performance reporting.
- Create and deliver email marketing campaigns, including segmentation, copywriting, scheduling, testing, and results analysis.
- Support CRM-led marketing activity, including customer journeys, lead nurturing, data quality, and campaign follow-up.
- Create engaging content across multiple formats, including web copy, blogs, case studies, customer communications, email, social media, campaign landing pages, and sales collateral.
- Work closely with sales and operational teams to understand customer needs, campaign priorities, and lead quality.
- Manage third-party suppliers, freelancers, and consultants where required, including specialist support for PPC, SEO, and digital performance.
- Coordinate campaign activity across digital, content, CRM, website, events, and sales enablement channels.
- Track, analyse, and report on marketing performance, using insight to improve campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain brand consistency across all marketing communications.
- Help establish marketing processes, reporting, templates, and ways of working as the function develops.
- Monitor competitor activity, sector trends, and customer behaviour within the energy, renewables, and sustainability markets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
