What Success Looks Like In Year One
You've built a marketing roadmap the BU leadership team actually uses. Marketing's pipeline contribution from Growth and Scale is clearer, better measured and improving. Your two Coordinators are doing better work than they were before you arrived. And central Marketing trusts you to represent the BUs while staying aligned on brand, reporting and shared priorities.
What You'll Own
BU marketing strategy and roadmap - From commercial brief to prioritised plan, accountable for what's in and what's out
Pipeline and demand generation - Acquisition plans, channel performance, lead quality loops with Sales
Lifecycle and retention - Customer communications, renewal and expansion programmes, working alongside Customer Success
Performance reporting - tracking pipeline contribution, conversion and retention impact against company-wide metrics
Team Leadership - Day-to-day direction, coaching and line management of two Marketing Coordinators
Requirements
The role
We're looking for a senior marketer to lead the commercial marketing agenda for two of our largest business units, Growth and Scale. This isn't a campaign manager role: you'll be the person BU leadership turns to when they need to understand what marketing can do for their numbers, and the person who turns that into a clear, prioritised plan that gets delivered.
You'll work closely with a central Marketing team and line-manage two Marketing Coordinators, so you'll need to be as comfortable influencing upwards and laterally as you are coaching a team and rolling up your sleeves on execution when it matters.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
