About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Marketing Manager for our client based in Colchester. You will own the full marketing function: strategy, lead generation, digital, content, brand, and reporting, as the senior in-house marketing resource. This is a hands-on management role: the right candidate will be equally comfortable setting the strategy and executing it personally. The role is responsible for driving a consistent flow of qualified sales leads to the sales team, managing the company's digital presence, and overseeing all external creative and agency resources. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's brand identity and ensuring marketing initiatives align with overall business objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead innovative marketing campaigns, optimize digital channels, and contribute directly to the company's growth and success.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in B2B lead generation, with a strong background in digital marketing and CRM management. A marketing degree or CIM qualification is preferred, along with sector-specific experience in B2B environments. Proficiency in HubSpot CRM, including workflow automation, sequences, pipeline reporting, and contact management, is essential. The candidate should have hands-on experience with Google Ads, Bing Ads, and LinkedIn Ads, including campaign setup, optimization, and budget management. Familiarity with WordPress for content management and website administration is required. A strong understanding of Google Analytics 4, social media scheduling tools such as Hootsuite, and LinkedIn organic and paid management is also necessary. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage external agencies and freelancers effectively are critical. Additionally, experience managing marketing budgets and producing detailed management reports will be advantageous.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
