Marketing Manager – Brand, Campaigns and Student Recruitment
Join South Essex Colleges Group at a key point in its development.
South Essex Colleges Group is undergoing a significant transformation, with ambitious plans to strengthen its brand, grow student recruitment and improve how we engage with our communities. As part of this work, we are recruiting a Marketing Manager for Brand and Campaigns to play a central role in shaping our marketing approach and leading high-impact recruitment campaigns.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced marketing professional who can combine strategic thinking with strong campaign delivery. You will help develop insight-led marketing strategies that increase brand awareness, strengthen our reputation and support student recruitment across 16–19 Further Education, Apprenticeships, Higher Education and Adult learning.
Working with the Director of Marketing, Admissions & Careers, you will lead on strategic brand positioning and manage the delivery of multi-channel campaigns across the student recruitment cycle — from awareness and engagement through to application, conversion and enrolment.
You will lead a small team across campaign activity, design, website content and marketing delivery. The Marketing Manager will develop engaging content to promote facilities and courses, including PR stories, social media, video creation, publications and website content.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
