Marketing Manager - Hospitality & Leisure

Large holiday resort in North Devon is recruiting for an experienced and commercially minded

Marketing Manager

Sector: Hospitality & Leisure

Title of Role: Marketing Manager Reporting to: Senior Leadership Team Direct Reports: None initially (will work closely with an external marketing agency) Salary: Competitive package, dependent on experience Location: Ilfracombe, North Devon Working Pattern: On-site (with some flexibility) Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-time), Monday–Friday, with flexibility during peak periods and events Start Date: 1 July 2026 Interview Details: Applications considered as soon as possible


About the Role

This newly created permanent full-time position will shape the resort’s marketing strategy, drive brand awareness, support revenue growth, and enhance the guest experience. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all marketing activity as the key link between the resort and its external marketing agency
  • Overseeing campaign planning and digital performance
  • Managing brand strategy, content creation, and website collaboration
  • Managing agency relationships and controlling the marketing budget
  • Collaborating cross-departmentally for cohesive business alignment

Responsibilities

Your key duties will include:

  • Developing and executing a commercially driven marketing strategy to strengthen the resort’s brand positioning
  • Planning and managing campaign initiatives (digital, traditional, and experiential) to boost visibility
  • Overseeing digital marketing performance, with a focus on analytics, SEO, paid media, and social media engagement
  • Co-ordinating high-quality content creation for websites, blogs, email, print, video, and social channels
  • Managing the external marketing agency, ensuring goals are aligned and KPIs are achieved
  • Reporting to senior leadership, demonstrating clear ROI for marketing spend and strategies
  • Collaborating with IT, operations, sales, and finance teams to ensure consistency and persuading cross-departmental buy-in

Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • Extensive marketing experience, preferably within hospitality, hospitality, or leisure sectors (tourism, conferencing, resorts)
  • A proven track record of strategic marketing planning, campaign execution, digital growth, and brand direction
  • Strong communication skills, adept at conveying ideas clearly to all stakeholders—internal and external
  • Confidence in managing third-party agencies and setting clear performance objectives
  • Exceptional problem-solving and resource management capabilities
  • Basic understanding of PPC, SEO, content marketing, paid social, and analytics tools
  • A forward-thinking, relationship-building mindset

A further requirement is the ability to safely handle and process sensitive data and financial information required for marketing objectives.
