Marketing Manager (Fixed-Term Maternity Cover – Full-Time)

At Ripley Wines, we proudly represent independent growers from Germany, Burgundy, Italy, and Central Europe. Our small but collaborative team includes both administrative staff based in the office and a sales team in the field. Our atmosphere is energetic, hands-on, and wine-focused, with regular group tastings and teamwork that spans all areas.


Role Summary

We’re seeking a motivated, energetic Marketing Manager to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This role requires a mix of creativity, organisational skills, and wine sector expertise to support our Marketing Strategy, events, and brand development.

Responsibilities

Events

  • Plan and execute tastings, including En Primeur, Portfolio tastings, winemaker events, masterclasses, and partnership events.
  • Coordinate printed materials such as:
    • Tasting booklets
    • Masterclass handouts
    • In-event signage
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and venues.

Marketing & Press

  • Implement the marketing strategy set by the Marketing Director.
  • Develop, create, and refresh:
    • Website and producer profiles
    • Blog content
    • Social media updates
  • Design marketing materials and campaign brochures for:
    • Trade clients
    • Private customers
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director to manage Mailchimp email campaigns.
  • Contribute to brand development for our portfolio producers.
  • Write and distribute press releases; build and maintain media relationships.
  • Track and report against marketing ROI and budget targets.

External & Freelance Coordination

  • Manage interactions with freelancers, printers, photographers, and copyeditors.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience in wine sector events and marketing.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Office (especially Publisher and PowerPoint)
    • Design tools like Canva
  • Strong written communication – with sharp attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills.
  • A solid understanding of:
    • Brand development and management
    • Online and offline marketing channels
  • Level 3 WSET qualification (or its equivalent).
