Traceability & Marketing Manager

Established in 1996, Mercanta is an importer of specialty green coffee committed to investing in quality, traceability, and long-standing relationships. Through strong producer partnerships, rigorous quality selection, and seamless logistics, Mercanta supplies roasters globally with a diverse and dependable coffee portfolio. With offices in multiple jurisdictions, our mission is to deliver outstanding coffees alongside a tailored, service-driven account management experience—to roasters of all sizes.
About the Role
As part of Mercanta’s commitment to quality and traceability, we are seeking a Traceability & Marketing Manager to:
- Take ownership of our traceability programme, transforming information from Origin into compelling stories.
- Develop best-in-class traceability reports for our roaster clients, ensuring current and accurate data.
- Manage core marketing activities across the Mercanta Group, aligning campaigns, events, digital channels, and content to support sales teams regionally.
- Build a consistent brand presence and ensure that marketing efforts enhance coffee promotion, engagement, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Traceability & Reporting
- Support and promote impact projects in collaboration with Origin partners.
- Gather and collate traceability information from producers.
- Transform raw data into powerful storytelling, crafting engaging narratives.
- Draft, organise, and distribute traceability reports for all purchased coffees.
Marketing & Content Creation
- Perform online/offline ad buying, placement, and impact analysis.
- Write articles or commission long-form digital/print content.
- Oversee the Mercanta website (management and content updates).
- Manage social media accounts (content creation, captioning, and analytics).
- Handle light graphic design for social media posts, promotional materials, and print/online collateral.
- Plan and execute budgeting, campaigns, and events/trade shows.
Strategic Collaboration
- Work across regions to enhance brand visibility.
- Collaborate with the London School of Coffee and Mercanta Micro on marketing activities, fostering cross-brand engagement.
- Maintain and protect Intellectual Property (IP) in conjunction with ECOM Legal team.

Skills & Experience
Successful candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing, with a passion for specialty coffee and sustainable supply chains.
- Strong knowledge in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and email campaign tools.
- Fluency in Adobe Suite or experience with tools like Canva.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong proficient English (fluent or native level) and a strong working knowledge of a second language (Spanish preferred).
- Self-motivation, organisation, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
