About the role

The Marketing Manager: Patient Monitoring and Digital Solutions is a key role for the Draeger Medical business, responsible for developing and executing the Patient Monitoring and Digital Solutions (assigned Product Area) strategy in alignment with local, regional and global business objectives.

The role includes both the development and implementation of marketing and product management strategies to strengthen Dräger’s position as specialists in acute care. With a focus on the market positioning and lifecycle management of the Product Area portfolio as well as implementation of targeted campaigns to drive market and customer engagement, this position draws on all aspects of marketing.

The successful candidate will combine strong operational and commercial skills, build effective cross-functional relationships, and communicate confidently with a broad range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

The job responsibilities are split into four key areas:

Understanding Customer & Market Needs

  • Understand the needs of our market and customers extracting insights that help deliver customer value and maximise sales, growth and profit opportunities.
  • Gather insights from clinical practices, buyer behaviour and market dynamics and apply this intelligence back into the organisation to design and refine Go-To-Market strategies.
  • Attend relevant events and exhibitions and use customer interactions to build and maintain market and customer knowledge.
  • Analyse the competitive offering to understand how Dräger can position our portfolio and deliver competitive advantage.

Product Lifecycle Management & Strategy

  • Lead, develop, manage, and advocate for Dräger’s Product Area strategy in line with overall business strategy.
  • Work with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams (including sales and clinical application specialists) to develop effective local Go-to-Market strategies, ensuring alignment with Dräger’s global and regional strategies.
  • Develop product management strategies and marketing programmes that deliver meaningful value to our customers and clearly distinguish Dräger’s offerings.
  • Develop and maintain recognised expertise in Product Area. Able to engage internal and external stakeholders to influence and champion positive sales and profit contribution.
  • Provide strategic support and advice into the sales process for Product Area, supporting sales teams with complex clinical situations and strategically important customers.
  • Ensure sales and commercial teams are adequately trained to represent the Product Area with customers and drive sales performance. Provision of relevant sales tools and conversational guides to promote positive customer engagement.
  • Collaboration on tender responses including price recommendations, technical support, messaging and positioning to drive sales performance.
  • Responsible for developing relationships and strategic agreements with relevant partner organisations including NHS supply chain (e.g. frameworks, bulk buys and offers) and relevant trade bodies and clinical networks for Product Area.

Market & Customer Campaigns and Tactics

  • Work collaboratively across commercial functions to set appropriate Product Area direction to meet customer requirements and business growth commitments in line with annual and mid-term financial planning periods.
  • As budget holder for the Product Area, responsible for setting marketing strategies to ensure the maximum impact and efficiency from investments and working collaboratively with the marketing communications team to execute effectively.
  • Identify and develop relevant pilot sites, clinical trials, case studies and testimonials that positively promote Product Area and brand messages.
  • Develop local Product Area Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), brand advocates and other thought leaders aligned to Sales and Marketing strategies to further promote Product Area and brand messages.
  • Manage sales enablement tools and customer materials including demonstration equipment, exhibition stock, communication materials and education content.

Operational Excellence

  • Work closely with other Dräger countries to find areas of best practice and apply to UK & Ireland as appropriate.
  • Provide regular and informed updates to the Commercial Leadership Team and relevant department heads.
  • Continuously assess and improve strategies, activities and channels to optimise effectiveness.
  • Ensure programmes are effectively managed and monitored to analyse and assess delivery. Design and report appropriate KPIs to allow predictable planning and monitoring of activities.
  • Use CRM and business systems to monitor performance, report outcomes and support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure continuous check and improvement of internal processes and procedures in accordance with the Dräger standards, to facilitate work and ensure the quality of output.

Role Requirements

Education/Qualifications

  • A higher education qualification (e.g. degree or MBA) in a business-related field is desirable but not essential
  • Qualifications in a clinical, marketing or related field is desirable but not essential

Related Experience

Essential experience

  • Experience supporting, marketing, managing or selling patient monitoring solutions and services, with a strong understanding of the patient monitoring market and customer landscape.
  • OR Experience supporting, marketing, managing or selling digital solutions and services, with the ability to market complex technical solutions that demand interoperability within cybersecure environments. Ideally this experience would be connected to the healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Commercial awareness

Desirable experience

  • Product management experience
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing strategies and programmes
  • Experience working within a large matrix organisation with local, regional and global stakeholders
  • Experience in a clinical environment

Role will include travel across the region (UK & Ireland) for internal collaboration, customer meetings and events up to 50% of time. Head office is Hemel Hempstead which will be a hub for meetings. Occasionally international trips may also be required. Travel needs will typically be pre-arranged and accompanied with adequate notice.
