CloserStill is a dynamic, fast-growing company that owns some of the UK’s & Europe’s most successful trade shows. All our events have significant growth both in sales and delegate attendance, and this is no accident. We have a team of the most dedicated and talented people in the industry, and award-winning marketers.

The purpose of this role is to help develop and deliver the marketing strategy that promotes our events to delegates and exhibitors. You will be working across the marketing mix to promote our largest technology tradeshow, taking place in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Senior Marketing Managers, Group Marketing Manager and Event Director, plus the wider team, to develop and implement marketing strategy, positioning, key messages and product strategy.
  • Execute the marketing campaign(s) and report on effectiveness and results, ensuring all elements achieve required performance criteria.
  • Work with the sales team to create sales campaigns, focused on both new client growth and increased client retention. This includes messaging to drive revenue across all products, such as digital, sponsorships, and future revenue opportunities.
  • Develop strategic audience development plans and ensure marketing communications accurately reflect event positioning and key messaging. Be the lead in messaging and writing regarding our outbound reach to our customers. Good communication and writing skills are imperative.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop marketing campaigns, lead generation strategies and compelling materials for all revenue streams across live and digital products.
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders have reviewed external marketing materials before sign off, including Content Leads to ensure editorial consistency of documents across show brands.
  • Regularly review marketing plan, response rates/KPI’s, attendee demographics, and industry best practices to ensure marketing efforts are effective and successful, making recommendations and adjustments as appropriate.
  • Strategise, manage, and optimise paid media campaigns across various platforms to drive sales inquiries and foster audience interest, ensuring alignment with the show's strategic goals and brand identity.
  • Collaborate with an external PR agency to maximise brand exposure and amplify our presence across broadcast and industry media, while ensuring our messaging is coherent and impactful.
  • Oversee and execute community building and social media strategies that drive engagement, interaction, brand affinity and could improve the audience experience.
  • Database management, list management, and development with the support of business intelligence and data teams.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of key marketing statistics and forecasts.
  • Manage marketing budgets, purchase orders, and liaise with Finance on reporting requirements.
  • Manage all planning and execution of the registration process for visitors.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all delegate, visitor, and attendee revenue generation, plus development of attendee/delegate pricing strategies and reporting.

What You Will Offer Us

  • Great writing skills. You will mainly be working on technology events so you should be confident in writing copy.
  • Ability to produce creative and well-thought-out marketing plans.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time.
  • Strong IT skills and systems management (e.g. experience working with CRM and CMS platforms, databases, email marketing and marketing automation software).
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations and experience of ensuring compliance in relation to email marketing / data sharing with third parties.
  • Able to identify search words / key terms to be used in data segmentations based on industry knowledge.
  • Experienced in devising and implementing digital marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Solid knowledge and experience utilising digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads).
  • Flexibility to accommodate extended working hours as needed around key show times.

Experience

We are seeking someone looking for an opportunity to join a marketing-led company that invests in its brands. We particularly want to see evidence of contributing to the development of marketing plans. Experience in marketing events is not a prerequisite, but the candidate must demonstrate extensive project management experience and experience managing direct reports.

CSM do not ‘usually offer sponsorship for this role.
