About Black Bull Biochar
Black Bull Biochar (BBB) is a growing UK company scaling the use of biochar, a carbon-rich material that improves soil health and removes carbon from the atmosphere. The company is entering an exciting expansion phase, growing its presence across Edinburgh, London, and Manchester, and building a team that will define the future of agriculture, renewable energy and carbon removal.
About the Role
We are looking for someone to build the BBB Marketing Strategy, someone who cares deeply about agriculture, climate, and the people working within it. This is a hands‑on role where you will shape how BBB tells its story, how farmers and partners engage with our work, and how we build credibility across agri‑tech and climate‑tech communities.
You will work across digital channels, field‑based activity, events, case studies, and partner engagement to build a consistent, trustworthy brand. You’ll collaborate with agronomists, operations, sales and leadership to turn technical information into simple, accessible and human‑centred communication.
This role suits someone who enjoys being creative, who values practicality over polish, and who understands that trust in agriculture is built through clarity, consistency and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute BBB’s marketing strategy across digital, field and partner channels
- Create clear, engaging content: case studies, videos, newsletters, presentations, blogs, and product explainers
- Build BBB’s brand presence within agriculture, carbon removal, and climate innovation sectors
- Work with the founders, the agronomy team and sales to produce farmer‑focused educational materials
- Manage website updates, social content, email campaigns and analytics
- Support the planning and delivery of events, farm days, trade shows and partner workshops
- Gather insights from farmers, partners and internal teams to shape content and campaigns
- Track performance and share insights to help refine future marketing activity
- Represent BBB externally and build relationships with relevant networks and industry groups

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
