Marketing Manager

The Opportunity

Description of a critical marketing opportunity within a professional services or consulting firm, aimed at shaping brand, thought leadership, and employer value proposition.


About the Role

You will be our first dedicated marketing hire - the person who brings coherence, energy, and rigour to the way we show up in the market and supports the way our people experience and talk about working here.

This role pairs the big-picture thinking of a serious strategist with the hands-on execution, catering to those who’re comfortable as solo marketing professionals seeking variety while quickly building credibility with senior leaders.

Working closely with sector leads and senior executives, responsibilities include:

  • Leading and delivering brand, thought leadership, and events strategies
  • Supporting business development, including:
    • New logos (clients)
    • Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) sectors
    • New services for existing clients
  • Boosting the Employer Value Proposition (EVP) and Alchemmy brand engagement across:
    • Content
    • Campaigns
    • Execution

Core Responsibilities

Brand & Communications

  • Maintain and strengthen brand identity with consistency across all channels and materials
  • Develop and execute a diverse content calendar
  • Oversee production of high-quality collateral like:
    • Proposals
    • Sector brochures
    • One-pagers
  • Build and manage our presence on LinkedIn and other platforms
  • Collaborate with HR/People team and leaders to articulate our Employer Value Proposition (EVP)
  • Create recruitment marketing materials, including:
    • Careers page
    • Social posts
    • Job advertising
    • Candidate-facing materials
  • Support internal communications to:
    • Align Alchemmy employees with strategy
    • Highlight successes
  • Champion company culture via:
    • Storytelling and me-too content

Events

  • Assist sector leads in planning, managing, and executing events
  • Maintain a current map of external sector events to recommend:
    • Event attendance
    • Sponsorships
    • Speaking slots
    • Optimal opportunities

Business Development & Account Support

  • Work with sector teams to develop campaigns supporting:
    • Pipeline development
    • Client retention
  • Track and report on BD-related marketing activity, extracting insights for the leadership team
  • Enable:
    • Client feedback programme
    • Actionable insights synthesis
    • Upscaling positive feedback into case studies, testimonials and referral opportunities
  • Contribute to go-to-market (GTM) plans, growing reach in new markets
  • Profile analysis and target-sector research, including:
    • Key publications and associations
    • Events and influencers

Essential Criteria

About You

  • 5 years of marketing experience, ideally with history in professional services or consulting
  • A truly versatile all-rounder:
    • Able to write a thought leadership piece, design content, and build an event plan within a single week
  • Excellent written communication (clear, concise, adaptable for complex topics)
  • Experience managing end-to-end events
  • Strong stakeholder management:
    • Influence senior leaders
    • Operate autonomously without direct supervision
  • Organised, detail-oriented:
    • Multitask effortlessly
  • Direct experience in business development/sales enablement marketing

  • Basic SEO or Google Analytics knowledge
