Marketing Operations Manager
12 Month Maternity Cover Role – Marketing Operations Manager
Reporting into the Head of Demand Generation, the Marketing Operations Manager is a key position within the Demand arm of the Moorepay Marketing Team.
Owning the martech and AI stack, operational excellence, Account-Based Marketing (ABM)/Account-Based Experience (ABX), and planning, the M-Ops Manager will be the lynchpin responsible for building and leveraging a winning platform for growth.
You will work with key stakeholders within commercial teams, aligning current and future marketing capabilities with the strategic needs of the business. This will include:
- The planning and technical execution of campaigns for both the demand and brand teams
- The performance and forward planning of the martech stack
- Regulatory compliance (GDPR/PECR)
- Vendor management and relationships with procurement
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and automation
- Work management within the marketing team to align activity with our KPIs
You will be responsible for:
- Owning and communicating change
- Acting as a key member of the CRM steering group
- Leading by example as a data steward within marketing systems
- Leading and developing a team of two direct reports (
- Marketing Executive
- Marketing Coordinator ),
This role is a hybrid role based in either our Swinton (Manchester) or Birmingham locations.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Operations & Execution
- Own end-to-end campaign operations, including:
- Maintaining the campaign calendar
- Planning
- Segmentation
- Targeting
- Quality assurance (QA)
- Deployment
- Optimisation
- Work with the Marketing Analyst to understand performance and apply insights to improve future activity.
- Implement robust QA and testing processes (A/B, multivariate, deliverability checks) to ensure high-quality execution.

ABM / ABX Programme Leadership
- Design, execute, and optimise ABM/ABX programmes, integrating intent data.
- Partner closely with the Business Development team to operationalise workflows, routing, and follow-up processes to maximise reach and meeting generation.
Martech, AI & Automation
- Own the martech and AI stack, including:
- Performance
- Roadmapping
- Vendor relationships
- Oversee:
- System integrations
- Data flows
- API-based connections to ensure reliable and scalable operations.
- Identify and deploy AI capabilities that improve:
- Campaign efficiency
- Personalisation
- Team productivity
Lead Lifecycle, Scoring & Attribution
- Own the lead lifecycle framework, including:
- Routing logic
- Lifecycle stages
- SLA alignment with Sales
- Develop and maintain lead scoring models, working closely with:
- The Marketing Analyst
- The Business Development team to validate and refine.
- Co-own attribution methodology, ensuring accurate measurement of campaign and channel contribution.
Governance, Compliance & Documentation
- Establish governance and operational excellence, including:
- High-quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Operating rhythms
- Act as the data steward within marketing systems, ensuring:
- Data quality
- GDPR compliance
- Provide coaching, performance management, and clear progression pathways for two direct reports.
Key Skills & Experience
Key Skills Required
- Solution-oriented logical thinker with a continuous improvement (+1% mindset)
- Deep knowledge of marketing operations and best practice within this fast-developing discipline, including:
- ABX
- Campaign methodologies
- Strong understanding of AI capabilities (1st and 3rd party) and how to drive value within the marketing team
- Leadership in governance and operational excellence, including:
- Establishing high-quality SOPs
- Maintaining operating rhythms
- Setting standards across the marketing team
- Deep knowledge of workflow and automation design and implementation, including:
- Testing
- Trouble-shooting
- Data-literate with a strong understanding of:
- Data quality
- Governance
- Stewardship across systems (HubSpot, Clay, Asana)
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and other regulatory frameworks
- Confident communicator – able to discuss complex topics in a straightforward fashion and say what you mean
- People leader who:
- Sets clear priorities
- Develops talent
- Fosters a positive team culture
