Make Gecko Impossible to Ignore 🚀

Marketing at Gecko is entering its next phase, and we’re looking for someone brilliant to help drive it.

We don't want someone who waits for a brief. We want someone who spots the opportunity, joins the dots across the business, and turns ideas into marketing that gets things moving and moves Gecko forward. The kind of person who hears a great customer story and immediately thinks, that's a webinar. And a case study. And a LinkedIn post. And an email. And, actually, a whole campaign.

You'll report to our Chief Revenue Officer and work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product and Engineering to tell better stories, generate demand, strengthen customer relationships, and make Gecko impossible to ignore across Higher Education.

We move quickly. There aren’t endless meetings, layers of approvals or corporate bureaucracy. If you’ve got a great idea, we’ll back you to make it happen.

This is a broad, hands-on role for an ambitious B2B SaaS marketer who wants more ownership. You'll write, build, launch, host, test, improve and experiment. We expect AI to be part of your everyday toolkit. Not because it’s fashionable, but because it helps you move faster, produce better work and spend more time on the things that really matter. You'll care about commercial impact as much as creative quality. And you'll help marketing become one of Gecko's growth engines.

What You'll Do 🎯

  • Plan and deliver campaigns that support new business, customer growth and retention.
  • Create content people actually want to read - articles, customer stories, case studies, email campaigns, social and product updates.
  • Run our webinar programme from idea through to promotion, delivery and follow-up.
  • Find brilliant customer stories and turn them into content, campaigns and proof points.
  • Support account-based and customer marketing that deepens existing relationships.
  • Manage website content, email marketing, nurture flows, SEO basics and social.
  • Support product launches and the quarterly "What's New" update.
  • Help with event and conference marketing, including our annual Gecko Forum.
  • Sharpen our reporting so we know what's working and what isn't.
  • Use AI to lift quality, speed, creativity and output.
  • Work with designers, agencies and suppliers where you need them.

Who You Are 🔭

  • A strong all-round SaaS B2B marketer who's ready for more ownership.
  • A brilliant writer who knows how to tell a story.
  • Confident across campaigns, webinars, email, web and social.
  • Commercial - you get how marketing turns into pipeline, expansion and revenue.
  • Naturally curious - you'll happily jump on a customer call and turn what you hear into ideas.
  • AI-first - it's your everyday toolkit, not a novelty.
  • Organised, proactive, and good at juggling priorities.
  • A proper JFDI mindset - execution is everything, and you think like an entrepreneur.

Higher Education or EdTech experience would be lovely, but it's not essential. We care far more about how you think and what you get done.

In your first year, we'd love to see:

  • Gecko showing up more consistently and confidently in the market.
  • Better customer stories, webinars and campaigns.
  • Marketing making a measurable commercial impact.
  • Marketing, Sales and Customer Success genuinely joined up.
  • Sharper reporting and better decisions.
  • AI embedded into how we work.
  • Marketing becoming one of the engines that helps Gecko grow.

The Deal 🎁

  • c. £50-55k, depending on experience
  • Remote-first UK, ideally central-belt Scotland, the Borders or the north of England so you can get together with the CRO and team in person now and then
  • 34-hour week, flexible working, with an optional 4-day week
  • 33 days holiday + Workation
  • Home office set-up, private healthcare, pension, life insurance, Perkbox
