Company: Women in Data®
Type: Full-time internship/placement year, 12-month contract
Location: Hybrid (Remote with semi-regular travel to London, ideally within 1-2 hour commute)
Looking for a marketing internship or student placement? This could be the perfect role for you. Women in Data® is a community-first organisation, offering opportunities for data, AI and tech professionals to share their knowledge, experiences and to network.
You do not need to know the data industry to be a good fit for this role, we are more interested in your marketing skills, passion and willingness to learn.
We are a small team which means you will get hands-on experience in a mixture of admin, social media and design tasks - it will be a combination of structured learning and self-led initiative to really make the role your own. You’re in safe hands being led by our Communications Officer, who previously won In-House Social Media Team of the Year 2025!
We’re ideally looking for someone full-time on a 12-month contract (with flex depending on your circumstances), with potential to extend for the right person.
We believe this role is suited to you if you come from a degree such as marketing, communications, graphics & media studies but this is not a definitive list.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
