This is a full-time, on-site Mason role located in various areas around the United Kingdom. The Mason will perform restoration, conservation, and repair work on historic structures, utilizing traditional techniques to preserve and enhance architectural integrity. Daily tasks include stone carving, masonry repairs, working with mortar, and collaborating with other skilled tradespeople to meet project requirements. Attention to detail, precision, and quality craftsmanship are essential to the role.
Qualifications
- Experience with Masonry and Stonework techniques for both restoration and new construction
- Skilled in Cement applications and Brickwork, especially for conservation and repair projects
- Proficiency in historic building Renovation and the handling of traditional materials
- Knowledge of specialized techniques in Stonework and detailed finishing
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Commitment to preserving historic structures and cultural heritage
- Health and safety awareness in a construction environment
- Formal training or relevant certification in masonry is an advantage
