The Programme Planning community at the Airbus Broughton site (near Chester) is a highly skilled team responsible for planning wing manufacture for all Airbus Commercial aircraft. The team ensures that Broughton has the capacity and capability to deliver the Airbus wing production requirements, in accordance with aircraft commercial delivery dates.
We work closely with the Operations team to provide manufacturing build schedules, resource plans, production build reporting, and scenario analysis. The department is key to providing the senior management team with the data required to enable them to make important strategic and tactical decisions.
Programme Planning is responsible for producing and maintaining the long term MPS (Master Production Schedule) for all the products across in the Broughton plant, using build rates based on customer demand. The scheduling of parts and materials for production is generated through this process. Tactical build plans are also created, which are used to optimise production in the shorter term. It is the Programme Planning team who monitors the adherence to the build plan, whilst ensuring it is achievable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
