Job Title: Master Scheduler

Function: Manufacturing Location: Glenrothes, Fife (or Livingston) Position Type: Onsite Duration: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week)


About the Role

Raytheon UK is a leading powerhouse in defence and aerospace innovation. This Master Scheduler role offers a unique opportunity to work on critical programs within an internationally recognised organisation. The position supports integrated programme teams, ensuring adherence to customer commitments and operational excellence across manufacturing and logistics environments.

Security Clearance:

  • Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) – Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update the Master Production Schedule for assigned programs, ensuring continuous alignment with customer demands and business objectives.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Integrated Program team, Operations, Engineering, Logistics, and Sales to optimise supply chain coherence.
  • Chair monthly Master Production Schedule reviews for assigned programs and generate corresponding Monthly Production dashboards as top-level output.
  • Prepare and communicate weekly work schedules (weekly targets) during daily production briefings to coordinate operational workflows effectively.
  • Ensure schedule alignment with inventory targets and On-Time Delivery (OTD) commitments, addressing realignment needs as part of the Monthly Production Reviews.
  • Provide labour resource plans to Operations management, ensuring smooth load levelling across production programmes and sub-assembly components.
  • Develop ‘What If’ capacity simulation models for end-to-end manufacturing processes to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Programme Management to forecast the 18-month order outlook, translating future demand into headcount and operational resource predictions.

  • Reduction in Aged Work-in-Progress (WIP)

Essential Requirements

  • Proven record of success in Master Scheduling, with exposure to Operations, Engineering, Logistics, and Sales.
  • Essential hands-on SAP experience for ERP management.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), capable of engaging with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
  • Self-driven, with a quality-and results-focused approach.
  • Collaborative and innovative, with strong judgment and solution-oriented skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office user, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • UK permanent residency and eligibility to undertake refreshed security checks (BPSS).
