Master Technician
Master Vehicle Technician / Mechanic – Battersea Volkswagen
Location: Battersea Volkswagen Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: OTE up to £55,480 (uncapped); £46,000 basic (plus £3,000 productivity & Time Saved Bonus) Hours: 40 hours (Mon-Fri 8:00am–6:00pm, with Saturday rota coverage)

The Role
As a Master Vehicle Technician / Mechanic, you’ll play a vital role in our high-performing workshop at Battersea Volkswagen. Reporting to the Aftersales Manager, you’ll work alongside technical teams—including apprentices—to deliver best-in-class vehicle services with cutting-edge diagnostics, road tests, and repairs, all while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
This is an opportunity to grow your career, lead teams, and make a lasting impact in gated vehicle care—whether supporting entry-level technicians or taking the lead on complex issues.
Ideal for: Qualified Vehicle Technicians or experienced Mechanics (dealer groups and independent garages welcome). Previous Volkswagen experience is appreciated but not essential—we’ll provide brand accreditation training.
Responsibilities

Diagnosis & Checks:
- Perform vehicle health assessments following manufacturer guidelines, including basic mechanical & electrical diagnosis.
- Identify faults and develop repair solutions to ensure peak performance.

Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs:
- Complete services and warrantied repairs per manufacturer standards.
- Authorise and carry out additional repairs with customer approval.
- Conduct road tests to verify fault resolution.
- Maintain spotless customer handover for a faultless experience.

- Technical Compliance & Documentation:
- Complete all paperwork to highest standards (MOTs, work orders, warranties).
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll meet the following criteria:
Technical & Professional Requirements
- Qualified in NVQ Level 3 (Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair) or equivalent.
- Full, valid UK driving licence (required for role documentation checks).
- Self-motivated, with a learning mindset—ambitious to elevate your master technician career through training opportunities.
- Supportive team player able to mentor junior technicians (e.g., apprentices).
- Strong commitment to safety, customer service, and maintaining factory standards.
Preferred Experience (Not Essential)
- Master Technician Accreditation.
- MOT & EV (electric vehicle) testing experience.
- Brand-specific training (provided for non-Volkswagen candidates).
