Vehicle Technician / Bus Technician – Stagecoach Bow Bus Garage

Location: Fairfield Rd, Bow, London E3 2QP Salary: £1,156.88 per week (37.5-hour contract)

About the Role

If you’re a multi-skilled vehicle technician looking for more variety, collaborative teamwork, or simply a fresh challenge, this could be the role for you. As a key member of our engineering team, you’ll play a vital part in keeping Stagecoach’s fleet running smoothly so passengers can safely reach their destinations.

Our busy depot serves East London, City, and beyond, transporting customers to work, hospitals, cinemas, nights out – and everything in between. As a Bus Technician, your duty is to ensure our fleet of iconic London buses (including Dennis, Volvo, and Scania) – and our growing electrified buses – remain in peak condition for a seamless journey experience.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs

  • Conduct routine, preventative maintenance strictly in line with company schedules
  • Diagnose engine faults, fuel systems, turbos, air, hydraulic, and braking (ABS/EBS) defects using modern test equipment (laptops, diagnostic tools)
  • Identify faults and carry out bid-standing repairs where practical (e.g., reducing downtime for buses)
  • Service and repair wheelchair-accessible ramps for interoperability across disabled passengers

Technical & Support Tasks

  • Perform measures including electrical repairs, greases refits, non-destructive testing of weld seams, and light bodywork adjustments
  • Document repairs (photograph/log) to demonstrate progress and effectiveness
  • Stay up-to-date with technical developments in currently available vehicles, including emerging tech in electric/hybrid solicitations

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
