About the Role

We’re looking for Masters and PhD-level researchers to collaborate with leading AI labs—designing complex problem statements, stress-testing AI reasoning, and pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve.
This fully remote, flexible contract role is perfect for researchers who seek meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule. Your academic expertise isn’t just a requirement—it’s the foundation of your contributions.

What You’ll Do
- Design, solve, and review advanced, multi-disciplinary problems with real-world complexity and academic rigor
- Apply your research expertise to create problem statements that meaningfully challenge and enhance AI reasoning capabilities
- Evaluate AI outputs for depth, accuracy, and logical soundness across technical domains
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performance
- Ensure every deliverable meets the highest standards of clarity, precision, and intellectual depth

Who You Are
- Holds a Master’s or PhD in a STEM field or highly technical discipline from a top university
- Shows a strong track record in research, publications, or complex technical projects
- Exhibits rigorous problem-solving, approaching challenges with the depth of a peer-reviewed paper
- Communicates with exceptional clarity in both written and verbal formats
- Self-directed and reliable for independent, asynchronous workloads
- Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.S., Australia, or New Zealand

Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems
- Proficiency in Python, R, or other research-oriented programming languages
- Familiarity with AI tools, language models, or machine learning workflows
- Experience in designing or grading rigorous academic assessments or problem sets
