Masters & PhD Researcher (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your years of advanced research could directly shape how the world's most powerful AI systems think, reason, and solve problems? We're looking for Masters and PhD researchers to bring their deep domain expertise to some of the most intellectually challenging work in AI today — designing complex problems, stress-testing AI reasoning, and helping push the frontier of what AI can do.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers who want to do meaningful, high-caliber work on their own schedule. If you've spent years mastering a technical field and want to put that expertise to use beyond the lab or classroom, this is the opportunity.
Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and solve advanced multi-disciplinary problems that challenge and improve AI reasoning capabilities
- Apply your research expertise to create complex, rigorous problem statements with real-world relevance
- Review and evaluate AI outputs for academic rigor, logical soundness, and depth
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts across leading research labs
- Ensure clarity, precision, and intellectual integrity across all deliverables
- Work independently on task-based assignments fully on your own schedule

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
