Masters & PhD Researcher (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your years of advanced research and deep domain expertise could directly shape how the world's most powerful AI systems think and reason? We're looking for Masters and PhD-level researchers to help develop and evaluate complex, high-difficulty problems that push AI to its limits — contributing to the frontier of AI reasoning and capability.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers who thrive on intellectual challenge. If you've spent years solving hard problems in a rigorous academic or professional setting, this is a rare opportunity to put that expertise to work on something that matters at scale.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design, solve, and critically review advanced, multi-disciplinary problems with real-world relevance across STEM and other technical domains
- Apply your research expertise to construct complex problem statements that genuinely challenge and improve AI reasoning capabilities
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to enhance model performance
- Evaluate outputs for academic rigor, logical soundness, clarity, and depth
- Ensure the highest standard of quality across all deliverables — you set the bar

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
