Masters & PhD Researcher (AI Training)

About The Role

What if the research skills you've spent years building could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI systems think and reason? We're looking for Masters and PhD-level researchers to bring their deep domain expertise to cutting-edge AI training projects — designing complex problems, stress-testing AI reasoning, and helping push the frontier of what these models can do.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers who want meaningful, intellectually stimulating work alongside their existing commitments. No prior AI industry experience required — your academic and research background is exactly what we need.

Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design, solve, and critically review advanced, multi-disciplinary problems with real-world relevance across STEM and technical domains
  • Apply your research expertise to construct complex problem statements that genuinely challenge and improve AI reasoning capabilities
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to identify weaknesses and enhance model performance
  • Uphold academic rigor, depth, and clarity across all deliverables — ensuring outputs meet the standards expected of serious research
  • Provide expert-level evaluation of AI-generated solutions in your area of specialisation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
