Masters & PhD Researcher (AI Training) – Alignerr
About the Role
What if your years of advanced research could directly shape the intelligence of tomorrow's AI? We're seeking Masters and PhD-level researchers to apply their deep domain expertise to an urgent goal: teaching state-of-the-art AI models to reason, solve, and think at a graduate level.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role for researchers who want to leverage their academic rigor for high-impact technology—while maintaining autonomy.

What You'll Do
- Design and develop complex, multi-step problems in your domain that challenge AI reasoning
- Craft academically rigorous problem statements with real-world relevance
- Review and evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, conceptual accuracy, and analytical depth
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performance
- Ensure high standards of clarity, precision, and integrity in every deliverable

Who You Are
- Holds a Master’s or PhD in a STEM or highly technical field from a recognised university
- Demonstrates a strong research track record, including peer-reviewed publications or technical project leadership
- Exceptional written communication skills – able to articulate complex ideas clearly
- Detail-oriented and rigorous; holds work to high academic standards
- Self-directed, comfortable working asynchronously with minimal direct supervision
- Fluent in English and geographically based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand

Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or AI quality assurance
- Proficiency in Python, R, or other research-oriented programming languages
- Interdisciplinary background – researchers from multiple technical disciplines are especially welcome
