About the Role
Lighthouse Games, a cutting-edge AAA studio based in Leamington Spa, is pioneering a revolutionary new IP that will redefine gaming standards. We seek a talented and passionate Material Artist to join our dynamic Art team, where creativity and craftsmanship thrive alongside collaboration with industry-leading experts.
As a Material Artist, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting high-quality PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials, elevating the visual fidelity of our game. Your work will contribute to immersive, visually stunning worlds, working closely across Environment, Foliage, Scanning, Character, and Vehicle art teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and produce realistic AAA-standard PBR materials
- Collaborate with cross-team disciplines to create cohesive materials and shaders
- Work with Technical Artists and Render Engineers to push material shader innovation
- Document and optimise the material creation pipeline for consistency and efficiency
- Identify quality-enhancing workflow improvements
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in creating realistic PBR materials
- Familiarity with real-time rendering engines and game development pipelines
- Mastery of material authoring tools such as Substance suite
- Proficiency in 3D modeling/rendering software (3ds Max, Blender, Marmoset Toolbag)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask

- Knowledge of photogrammetry techniques
- Understanding of geology, architecture, or dendrology
- Passion for motorsport/vehicle design
