Material Coordinator - CON50118
The HPC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project.
Position: Material Coordinator – CON50118Altrad
Responsibilities
- Carry a positive Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) outlook, while representing and promoting a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the entire construction life cycle of the project.
- Attend coordination meetings covering procurement, expediting, and warehouse inventory for all MEH Material.
- Coordinate and communicate materials between:
- Material package managers
- Warehouse teams
- Construction teams
- Accumulate data from a 16-week lookahead to support the scheduling of deliveries and installation material per specified material category and/or construction area.
- Assist with providing data input to create detailed visual aids and tables to support forecasted material data.
- Assist with:
- Cataloguing and identification of materials
- Issuing/receipting of material
- Data input into the asset management system (AS9) (referenced against the Weekly Installation Plan)
- Collaborate with other departments within the organisation (including planning, engineering, logistics, and site-wide teams) to ensure:
- Smooth operations
- Efficient movement, storage, care, and integration of construction materials
- Provide feedback and reports to the Material Preparation and Configuration Manager on potential improvements related to:
- Process
- HS&E
- Reporting structure (identifying areas of shortfalls)

Qualifications / Experience
- Knowledge of Construction M&E disciplines and related material: A clear understanding of:
- Various M&E industries within nuclear construction
- Related standards and material handling/storage requirements
- Experience in construction procurement or warehouse asset management.
- Proven track record of material/asset management, with a strong understanding of a quality-driven process to ensure lifetime quality records are accurately recorded and maintained throughout the end-to-end process.
- Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Input and Reporting:
- Record and input weekly and monthly KPI data.
- Assess shortfalls in the process and provide actionable recommendations for improvement and structural enhancements.
- Health & Safety Reporting:
- Report on and provide feedback about the:
- Organisation’s efforts to observe environmentally sustainable practices.
- Energy-saving initiatives
- Waste reduction measures
- Environmental impact assessments of plant and equipment.
- Report on and provide feedback about the:
- Equipment Management:
- Generate or complete forms regarding:
- Maintenance of plant/material/equipment
- Disposal of plant/material/equipment
- Feedback findings to management.
- Generate or complete forms regarding:
- Coordination & Collaboration:
- Document efforts with departments such as:
- Production
- Engineering
- Logistics
- Report on:
- Joint projects
- Improvements in coordination
- Shared successes.
- Document efforts with departments such as:
- Documentation & Records Management:
- Ensure all relevant records, reports, and documentation are organised.
- Maintain accessibility for audits, inspections, or future reference.
