Material Handler II - Heysham
£13.20 per hour | 37.5 hours per week | Rotating shifts
We are currently recruiting for a Material Handler II to join our client's busy and professional operation in Heysham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with warehouse or materials handling experience looking to join a structured, safety-focused environment.
Working Hours
- 37.5 hours per week
- Rotating shift pattern:
- Week 1: 08:00 - 16:00
- Week 2: 09:30 - 17:30
Pay Rate
- £13.20 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack and accurately book goods using the JD Edwards (JDE) system
- Perform system transactions relevant to stock control and materials handling
- Store bulk and pre-pack materials within appropriate hazard warehouses
- Pick stock for repack orders and return materials to correct storage locations
- Conduct cycle counts in line with work instructions
- Investigate and resolve Not on Location (NOL) discrepancies
- Pick and prepare UK and export orders, reporting any issues
- Follow strict packing and labelling procedures in line with transport regulations
- Assist with shipment collation, loading, and completion of documentation
- Work with third-party systems such as courier platforms and MSDS documentation
- Handle fine chemicals safely in line with Chemical Exposure Management (CEM) regulations
- Maintain stock of consumables and follow requisition procedures
- Operate equipment safely and report defects or issues
- Keep accurate records and documentation up to date
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, quality, and security policies
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities
- Carry out additional duties in line with skills and business needs

Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse or materials handling role preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely
- Comfortable working with computer systems (JDE experience desirable)
- Good problem-solving skills, particularly with stock discrepancies
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- FLT licence preferred but not essential
