Material Handler
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Job Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, working a 4-day week over a 5-day operational week.
Hourly Rate: Competitive based on experience
Experience: At least three years of experience within an aerospace/ manufacturing environment
We are seeking a reliable and detail-orientated material handler to support production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for moving, storing, and tracking materials and products efficiently and safely.
Here Is What You Can Expect To Be Doing
- Inspection processing: Checking Certificates of Conformity against customer specifications and confirming material suitability for use & raising issues where appropriate.
- Material movement transactions: Undertake timely, accurate electronic transactions to transfer materials to the relevant locations within the system.
- Maximize material life: Operate FIFO (first in first out) principles and monitor remaining life on materials.
- Highlighting where material life needs extending and removing expired materials from the system.
- Ensure the storage of materials: Is organized, traceable, and complies with relevant standards.
- Issue materials within the ERP system (Epicor): To ensure full traceability and manage anomalies with respect to material quantities.
- Undertake cycle counts: To ensure accurate stock levels and where discrepancies occur, investigate as directed.
- Physically remove materials from the freezer: And return or store them where required.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate manual handling equipment (forklift certification is a plus).
- Basic maths and computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
A Few Things About You
- Manual handling experience required; must be comfortable lifting and moving heavy items safely, with assistance as required.
- Computer literate and able to use MS Office applications.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment, with exposure to inventory control, handling stock & stock rotation.
- A working understanding of an ERP system.

When You Are Working
4-day week 07:15 am to 5:00 pm totalling 37 hours weekly. Overtime is available at premium rates of pay.
