Job Details
Material Planner
- Location: Peterborough, England, Anglia
- Job Type: Temporary
- Hourly Pay Rate: £15.38
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
- Assignment Duration: 6 month assignment with the possibility of being extended
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid working after training
- Initial training: approx. 3 weeks onsite, Monday-Friday
- After training: Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Role Overview
We're looking for a Material Planner to support the First Fit Planning team at our client's Peterborough site. This role is ideal for organised, customer focused individuals with strong attention to detail and a background in supply chain or logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate shipment plans with suppliers and maintain a 5 day rolling shipment plan
- Manage inbound POs and track shipments across sites
- Participate in daily and weekly review meetings
- Follow standard work, process documentation and quality procedures
- Collect and maintain PFEP master data (lead times, order quantities, etc.)
- Work with Quality to support disposition of non conforming material
- Execute supply plan releases with assigned suppliers
- Join allocation calls with Sourcing Managers and suppliers
- Support lead time and order quantity reduction initiatives
- Assist with excess inventory repositioning
- Provide timely updates on inventory availability and back order recovery
- Support ramp up / ramp down activities
- Reconcile order boards for critical suppliers and past due orders
- Contribute to Supplier Improvement Process activities
- Document, communicate and follow up on actions impacting plan execution
- Remain flexible and support miscellaneous duties as required
- Engage in HSE reporting, compliance and training
- Communicate effectively within the team and wider support functions
- Participate in improvement projects (quality, safety, process, material flow)

Skills & Experience
- Highly organised, customer focused, strong attention to detail
- Good standard of education to high school level
- Good communication skills
- 1-4 years' experience in supply chain, logistics or materials is desirable but not essential
- Previous planning experience is desirable but not essential
