Senior Production Planner – ABB Emergency Lighting

This position reports to the Planning & Fulfillment Manager.
In This Role
You will generate a detailed production schedule based on the production plan to maximize resource use and meet production specifications and schedules. Daily responsibilities include:
- Feeding information on production capacity issues and material availability.
- Releasing manufacturing work orders.

Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior Production Planner, you’ll ensure operational excellence by:
- Creating and maintaining detailed production schedules to optimize resource allocation and meet delivery deadlines.
- Releasing manufacturing work orders and executing daily plant-level MRP to support production needs.
- Defining operation sequences and lead times, aligning with the master production schedule.
- Monitoring schedule adherence, identifying root causes of deviations, and driving corrective actions.
- Defining and maintaining inventory parameters in the ERP system; collaborating with Buyers to improve supplier performance.
- Aligning inbound material planning, call-offs, requisitions, and purchasing orders with Operations and GBS.
- Analyzing excess, obsolete, and aging inventory, proposing cross-functional optimizations.
- Conducting planning & fulfillment analysis and providing performance reports to business leaders.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications & Experience
To thrive in this role, you must have:
- Detailed knowledge of:
- Manufacturing planning
- Master production scheduling
- Inventory control
- Materials requirements planning (MRP) and capacity requirements planning
- Shop floor control and warehousing
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving—ability to identify and implement improvements in business processes.
- IT literate, with proficiency in Excel.
