Operations/TKW Leader (Sampling & Quality Control) - Battlefield Plastics Recycling Facility, Shrewsbury
Salary: £26,715.00 plus Veolia benefits
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 08:00–16:00 Location: Battlefield Plastics Recycling Facility (Battlefield Way, Shrewsbury, SY1 3EQ) (Future shift pattern pending approval, then rotating shifts: 6am–2pm, 2pm–8pm, 8pm–6am)
Shift Allowance: Rate for anti-social hours to be confirmed
About the Role
The new Plastics Recycling Facility (PRF) processes up to 200,000 tonnes of non-hazardous plastics annually, covering tasks such as manual separation, size reduction, automatic sorting, granulation, cleaning, washing, and bagging or baling materials.

Key Responsibilities
As the Operations/TKW Leader, you’ll oversee quality control, sampling, and site compliance. Your tasks include:
- Sampling & Quality Assurance:
- Conduct representative sampling of processed materials to meet strict quality protocols
- Ensure accurate, timely completion of all required documentation
- Administration & Site Support:
- Manage daily administrative duties for the facility
- Maintain all sampling equipment, ensuring it’s functional and serviceable
- Provide the first point of contact for site visitors, enforcing protocols and policies
- Housekeeping & Duties:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy facility through site-wide maintenance
- Carry out ad-hoc duties as directed by the management team
What We’re Looking For
- Operational experience in a factory, recycling, or quality-control environment
- Strong Health & Safety awareness, with an ability to uphold strict compliance standards
- Right to work in the UK (or secure presumption of clearance if international)
