Materials Controller

Materials Controller Eaton Electric Ltd

About the Role

The Materials Controller will be responsible for overseeing the movement of materials across back planes and field bus lines within Eaton Electric Ltd. Key tasks include ensuring material accuracy, kitting, and storage—all while maintaining safety and timely execution.


Key Responsibilities

Material Flow & Control

  • Move materials from goods inward to designated materials storage locations.
  • Actively manage the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) process within the Luton site.
  • Identify and address material shortages via the Gemba log and liaise with the manufacturing team.
  • Investigate and resolve material inaccuracies highlighted during cycle counts.

6S & Continuous Improvement

  • Embrace and adhere to the company’s 6S culture (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain, Safety).
  • Support and implement continuous improvement activities.

Material Accuracy & Compliance

  • Perform cycle counts of materials as requested or required.
  • Operate in a safe, controlled manner and report all non-conformances.
  • Escalate Bill of Materials (BOM)-related issues to maintain material control.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to flag Non-Conforming Feed (NCF/NQF) items when component quality is at risk.
  • Ensure timely delivery line order coordination with the operations team.
  • Execute all reasonable additional tasks as assigned.
