PB Kent Overview

Operating from a modern production facility based in Immingham, UK, PB Kent manufacture a comprehensive range of quality fertiliser products to meet a vast array of individual customer requirements.

PB Kent manufacture many innovative market-leading products that are distributed throughout the UK, Europe, and international markets. We provide advice and assistance in product development based on comprehensive manufacturing capability including specifying raw materials, formulation, packaging, and logistics.

Role: Materials Coordinator

The Materials Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the timely availability and movement of raw materials, packaging, and production consumables to support the production plan.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support

  • Work closely with Production Supervisors to understand changing material requirements.
  • Coordinate the timely movement of materials to production areas.
  • Respond to changes in production priorities.
  • Assist with managing material substitutions where approved.
  • Escalate supply risks affecting production.
  • Support expediting of urgent materials when required.

Working alongside the Stock Controller

  • Use stock reports to determine material availability.
  • Help resolve shortages and supply issues.
  • Support investigations into stock discrepancies where they impact production.
  • Assist with managing slow-moving or obsolete materials.
  • Assist with cycle counts where required.
  • Assist with updating ERP/MRP systems with material information.
  • Maintain planning spreadsheets and reports.
  • Produce shortage reports for daily production meetings.
  • Support the Planning Lead with planning administration.

Planning Administration

  • Assist with updating ERP/MRP systems with material information.
  • Maintain planning spreadsheets and reports.
  • Produce shortage reports for daily production meetings.
  • Support the Planning Lead with planning administration.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow.
  • Reduce material shortages and unnecessary stock movements.
  • Support improvements to planning processes.
  • Assist with developing standard operating procedures.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all site health and safety procedures.
  • Promote safe material handling practices.
  • Maintain good housekeeping within material storage areas.
  • Ensure company procedures are followed.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills.

  • Comfortable working across office and production environments.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • ERP/MRP experience desirable.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience in planning, purchasing, logistics, or materials coordination.
  • Good computer literacy.

Desirable

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Understanding of production planning.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles.
